North Texas will see two prominent Democratic candidates running for president of the United States coming through town, one at a private fundraiser event in Dallas, the other at a rally in Fort Worth.

Mayor Pete Buttigieg will be in Dallas on Friday, May 3 at an event called "An Afternoon in Dallas with Mayor Pete," which is being held at a "location available upon RSVP." You can't find out where unless you buy a ticket.

The fundraising meet-and-greet runs from 1-3 pm. Tickets start at $500. If you want to attend an exclusive host reception from 1-1:30 pm, you'll have to pony up $2,800.

The event is being hosted by George Billingsley, of the famed Billingsley family, and a partner at Billingsley Co.; Bridget & Tom Black, managing partner of Black, Mann & Graham, LLP; and famed trial lawyer Russell Budd.

Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders will be in Fort Worth on April 25, at a rally at Burnett Plaza and Park. None of those $2,800 tickets for man-of-the-people Bernie — this is a free event.

Doors open for the rally at 10:30 am, and the event starts at noon. Sanders is on an "Electability Tour," where he's holding rallies at towns across the country.

This will be Sanders' first visit to Texas since the launch of his presidential campaign. He last visited in March 2018 to encourage Democratic voters to turn out ahead of the midterms.

In addition to Fort Worth, he'll also host a rally in Houston at Discovery Green, 1500 McKinney St. on April 24 at 5 pm.

He's in Texas to attend the She the People Presidential Forum, which is taking place in Houston on April 24. It's the first-ever presidential candidate forum focused on issues important to women of color, including racial, economic, gender, and social justice issues.

Sanders recently took the lead on fundraising efforts among Democratic candidates. In April, his campaign announced a massive fundraising haul of $18.2 million raised in the first 41 days since he kicked off his 2020 presidential run in February, giving him a big advantage over his opponents.

Buttigieg's campaign has been a surprise hit, drawing millions in donations. The mayor of South Bend, Indiana, is openly gay and married, and has emerged as a strong voice for LGBT equality and religious tolerance.

There are currently 19 candidates running in the Democratic primary for president, including Beto O'Rourke, former U.S. representative who ran for U.S. senator in 2018 and came this-close to ousting Ted Cruz.
