Farewell to Fixer Upper
Chip and Joanna Gaines announce next Fixer Upper season is show's last
Chip and Joanna Gaines, owners of the Waco-based Magnolia enterprise and stars of HGTV's Fixer Upper, have announced that the upcoming season of the home makeover show will be its last.
The announcement, made on the Magnolia website on September 26, features a heartfelt video of the Gaineses explaining their decision, as well as a written letter. In the letter, they express their thanks to their fans and indicate that even though the show may be ending, they are not giving up their significant presence in Waco or their desire to keep renovating homes in the area.
In perhaps an attempt to head off rumors, the letter also says that their marriage has never been stronger and that the decision "has nothing to do with a fraudulent skincare line," a rumor Joanna Gaines addressed earlier this year. By all accounts, Magnolia is stronger than ever, too, having recently announced a partnership with Target that will begin on November 5.
The fifth and final season of Fixer Upper will begin in November and continue into Spring 2018.
