Ice Storm Cancellation
Arts District extravaganza Reliant Lights Your Holidays gets bumped due to bad weather
Anyone looking forward to catching the first ever Reliant Lights Your Holidays will have to wait just a little bit longer. Fearing the worst from Winter Storm Cleon, organizers have postponed the event in Sammons Park at AT&T Performing Arts Center until Friday, December 13.
The postponement may cause a shift in some of the entertainers who were scheduled to perform, like country singer Jack Ingram and the Dallas Symphony Orchestra Brass Quintet.
However, most of the night's activities — including the snow play land, crafts area, photo stage and, of course, the lighting of the 250,000 lights — will go on as scheduled. More than six-and-a-half miles of lights will be strung around the Winspear Opera House, Wyly Theatre and surrounding trees.
Radar on Weather.com shows the feared ice storm mostly staying north of the Dallas-Fort Worth area so far on Thursday, although conditions are expected to worsen in the overnight hours.
