An indoor golf lounge is opening near downtown Dallas: Called Birdies Golf Lounge, it’ll debut in Victory Park this summer at 2401 Victory Park Ln. #100, in what was previously a parking garage, at the corner of Museum Way.

Birdies Golf Lounge comes from Stuart Humphreys, a real estate investor and owner of private real estate firm Landmark Capital. This is his first golf simulator business.

It's something he’s been working on for the past 18 months, and he says it's awesome to see it becoming a reality.

"Golf is experiencing quite a renaissance at the moment, and golf simulators are rapidly growing in popularity," Humphreys says. "But golf is a demanding sport, and quite inconvenient for the average urban consumer as courses are an average of half an hour away, very busy and extremely time consuming."

(This is no relation to Birdies Chicken, the fried chicken pop-up, which just ended its tenure at Victory Park at the end of March.)

Golf simulators have been growing in popularity in DFW, not only as a place for golfers to practice their swing, but also as a different kind of night out. They're big in the 'burbs as well as the city center with nearby concepts such as City Golf Club in the State Thomas area and Scratch Golf Club in downtown.

The Victory Park lounge will feature three golf bays available for an hour at a time, plus two lounge spaces with TVs throughout, featuring sports, entertainment, and music. For a group experience, Birdies will also be open for leagues and corporate events.

Additionally, there will be a cocktail bar with beer, wine, champagne, and mixed drinks like a hot honey margarita with smoky reposado tequila; and a food menu offering small bites such as appetizers, truffle fries, avocado toast and club sandwiches.

Birdies Golf will use Trackman, a technology developed by Danish golfers in 2003 which creates an indoor golf experience, including using software to track balls trajectory and to mimic real golf courses. It's a popular choice for indoor golf venues: aside from Birdies, there are 23 other golf concepts in Dallas that use Trackman.

"Birdies reimagines golf as an accessible social experience, emphasizing community and convenience, perfect for the young urban demographic in Uptown," Humphreys says. "We will also be introducing membership packages that will allow exclusive access to special VIP events on a regular basis like wine tastings, networking events, competitions and some very special guest meet-ups."
