Rapper Nicki Minaj puts Dallas on list for first solo tour in 8 years
Rapper Nicki Minaj will go on her first solo tour in eight years, and her largest tour to date, with the 2024 Pink Friday 2 World Tour, which will include a stop at American Airlines Center in Dallas on Saturday, May 11.
UPDATE 5-29-24: Minaj has announced a second Dallas date as part of the second leg of her tour, taking place on Tuesday, September 17 at American Airlines Center. Following presales, the general on-sale begins on Friday, May 31 at 9 am at NickiMinajOfficial.com.
In addition to Dallas, Minaj will visit Houston on May 9 and Austin on May 12 as part of the 37-city world tour. The tour will start in Oakland, California on March 1 and wrap up in Berlin, Germany on June 7.
The tour is in support of her just-released new album, Pink Friday 2. That term and color has been popular for Minaj in her career, as she also has albums named Pink Friday (2010), Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded (2012), and The Pinkprint (2014), with 2018's Queen the only outlier.
That pink obsession goes along with her longtime love of Barbie, resulting in her recording "Barbie World" with Ice Spice for the 2023 box office champion, Barbie.
Minaj has become the queen of hip-hop since her debut, becoming the first woman to score 100 Billboard Hot 100 Hits, as well as the first female rapper to cross the 1 billion view mark with multiple solo tracks on YouTube.
Tickets for the tour will be available starting with a Citi presale on Tuesday, December 12. Additional presales will run throughout the week ahead of the general on-sale beginning on Friday, December 15 at 9 am at NickiMinajOfficial.com.
