SoCal eyewear brand Oliver Peoples sets sights on first Dallas store
A luxury eyewear brand popular with celebrities is focused on June 8 for the opening of its newest boutique, at NorthPark Center. It will be the first Dallas freestanding store for the California-based Oliver Peoples, and the second in Texas.
The 592-square-foot NorthPark boutique will carry a wide selection of sunglasses and optical glasses for women and men, according to a release. It will open just in time to display the brand's summer 2018 collection — a line containing rich color palettes and custom translucent hues matched from Swarovski crystals. In addition, the store will carry Peoples' recent collaboration with Los Angeles-based digital art curator Jordan Watson of Love Watts.
The NorthPark boutique's design is described as "quintessential California midcentury modern aesthetic."
"The Oliver Peoples Dallas boutique combines minimalist and classic midcentury design elements," says creative director Giampiero Tagliaferri in a release. "Each piece of furniture and décor was carefully selected to highlight the aesthetic, from the gray ashwood furniture, to the vintage Italian lamps from Stilnovo, and vintage Turkish rugs.”
Oliver Peoples, founded in 1987, launched its original designs and opened of its first boutique in West Hollywood, California. Designs have a vintage aesthetic and are inspired by the art, fashion, film, and music of Los Angeles.
The brand has built a following among influential tastemakers and celebrities. Hollywood A-listers recently spotted wearing Oliver Peoples include Jennifer Aniston, Steve Carell, Johnny Depp, and Demi Moore.
The company currently has distribution in more than 60 countries worldwide and operates 30 retail stores. The only other Texas boutique is in Houston.
Oliver Peoples NorthPark will be on level one, across from Williams-Sonoma. Hours will be 10 am-9 pm Monday-Saturday and 12 pm-6 pm Sunday.
