National hair-care brand Madison Reed books new 'color bar' for Dallas suburb
In time to perk up pandemic-neglected hair, a popular San Francisco-based hair-color brand is opening a new salon for quick, affordable color treatments in Allen. The new Madison Reed Color Bar will open Tuesday, June 2 at 966 Village Green Dr.
It's the fourth Madison Reed Color Bar to open in Dallas-Fort Worth, behind locations in Plano, Fort Worth, and Southlake that opened in 2019. Those salons, which have been offering only curbside service since early May, also will reopen for appointments on June 2.
"We are opening with limited hours and limited service," a Madison Reed spokeswoman says. "We call it 'sensible scheduling,' which means a reduced number of people in the Color Bars, keeping clients six feet apart, and keeping appointment length to a minimum (each appointment is 1 hour 15 minutes)."
The salons also are offering a new “Unlimited Roots Membership” for $55 per month.
Founded in 2014, Madison Reed is known nationwide as an innovative beauty company that produces "clean" color. Their at-home color products are free from ammonia, parabens, and glutens, and are enriched with healthy ingredients like argan oil, keratin, and ginseng root.
Their color bars are to hair coloring what blow-dry bars are to styling: they offer quick treatments at affordable prices. For example, clients can get permanent color applied to their roots for $55 or all-over color for $85.
They offer 45 multi-tonal shades "crafted in Italy by master colorists known for elevating hair color into an art form," the company says.
Hours at the Allen location will be 10 am-6 pm Tuesday through Saturday. Clients may pre-book now through the website.
