Treat Yo'self
8 divine destinations for self-care in Dallas' West Village
Whether your preferred brand of self-care involves a calorie-torching cardio session or a rejuvenating chiro appointment, West Village has a destination with your name on it. The Uptown neighborhood is brimming with spas and fitness studios to help you be your best self — whatever that means to you.
Here's a look at all the places you need to have on your radar.
Barry's Bootcamp
Famed trainer-to-the-stars Barry Jay started his one-stop-shop for a better body in LA in 1998. Last December, Dallas finally became a part of his FitFam with the opening of our very own Barry's Bootcamp in the West Village. Workouts are designed for efficiency, carefully pairing opposing muscle groups to ensure a balanced workout and proper recovery time.
City Naturals
Mark your calendar: City Naturals is opening two locations (one in the West Village and one in Preston Center) soon. The new brick-and-mortar stores give Dallasites a one-stop shop for organically grown CBD products. Currently available online, City Naturals stocks everything from CBD-infused dog treats to CBD salves — all containing zero THC — along with such non-CBD products as organic candles and linens.
Class Studios
The newest addition to West Village's array of exercise outposts boasts two different approaches to getting fit: a 45-minute spin class or high-intensity, low-impact circuit training taught by former athletes and military veterans that incorporates rowing machines, weights, and plyometrics.
District Climb
Inspired by the training rituals of renowned athletes and celebrities, District Climb combines the VersaClimber with rhythmic beats in a multi-sensory studio. Those who are crunched for time can still sculpt every inch of their body to perfection, thanks to 30-minute cardio sessions that yield long-lasting results, regardless of age, ability, or experience.
Formula Wellness
From sexual rejuvenation to red-light therapy and weight-loss programs, Formula Wellness offers services not typical of most medical practices. Focusing on holistic health, the center provides comprehensive wellness programs that include thorough on-site medical testing, custom workout and diet programs, and supplements, injections, and hormone therapy treatments targeted to each person's unique needs.
Pure Barre
At Pure Barre, members alternate work-outs with stretching to create long, lean muscles. The low-impact, high-results studio concentrates on the areas women struggle with the most — hips, thighs, seat, abs, and arms — and integrates a meditative component, allowing you to clear your head while you transform your body.
SoulCycle
The West Village location opened in 2016, and Dallasites have been fighting for a spot on the 55 bikes ever since. Known for its club-like lighting, pulsing music, and celeb sightings — Bradley Cooper, Madonna, and Lady Gaga are all fans — SoulCycle promises (and delivers on) an "emotional journey that runs parallel to the physical workout."
The Joint Chiropractic
Twenty years after its launch, The Joint has grown to a network of more than 425 chiropractic offices, including an Uptown location in the heart of West Village. Designed to make chiropractic care convenient and affordable, The Joint offers a variety of wellness plans and packages, along with individual adjustments for just $39.
