    Come Sale Away

Where to shop in Dallas right now: Can't-miss summer sales

    Rachael Abrams
    Jul 1, 2014 | 4:07 pm

Summertime is sale time, especially in July, when stores need to clear the racks to make room for fall and winter merchandise. In Texas, where warm temperatures last through fall, that means there is still plenty of time to wear whatever steals you can find at our favorite Dallas shops.

If there are no dates, that means the sales are running as long as there is stuff to sell. So hurry and happy hunting.

    Abi Ferrin
During her Fourth of July sale, the Dallas designer is offering a 25 percent discount on entire purchases at the flagship West Village store and online through July 6.

    Edo Popken
The Design District shop has slashed prices up to 70 percent on all merchandise, including belts, ties, suits, blazers, shirts and slacks. And it's not just menswear; there are button-downs and lightweight sweaters for ladies too. If that's not enough incentive, now through July 5, if you buy two items, you receive two pieces free. July 7- 12, when you buy three items, you receive four items free. Seriously.

    I.O. Metro
One of our favorite home stores is currently having an Independence Day blowout; it ends July 6. Shop in-store or online for contemporary furniture, decor and home accessories and receive 20 percent off all full-priced items, as well as 25 percent off all purchases of $3,500 or more.

    J.McLaughlin
Score up to 60 percent off summer merchandise for men and women at this Plaza at Preston Center shop; this is one of the boutique's two annual sales. Now's the time to stock up on classic sweaters, button-downs, casual dresses, chinos and swimwear.

    KidBiz
Just in time for pool parties and play dates, KidBiz's summer sale means 50 percent off all swimwear and select clothing from its spring and summer collections.

Last Call Studio by Neiman Marcus
During this can't-miss sale, get up to 50 percent off clothing, shoes and accessories from designer and contemporary lines. Sale runs through July 8.

    Lublu
Shop Kira Plastinina's stylish womenswear and save up to 50 percent off spring/summer 2014 clothing and accessories. Among the finds are printed tunic dresses, pastel-colored trousers and unique outerwear from the Dallas-based designer.

    Piermarini
Throughout the summer, get 40 percent off womenswear and 60 percent of menswear at Piermarini, which specializes in fashion-forward lines from up-and-coming designers. The sale also includes shoes and handbags.

    Planet Bardot
Knox Street's Planet Bardot is currently offering up to 50 percent off certain spring and summer pieces from its West Coast-inspired selection.

    Pockets Menswear
Now through the first week in July, Pockets summer sale includes 30 to 50 percent off select shoes, shorts, slacks, suits, jackets and shirts.

    TenOverSix
This gem at The Joule is offering 50 percent off select clothing, shoes and accessories. The most coveted sale pieces include designs by Rachel Comey, Rodarte, Loeffler Randall, Phillip Lim, Jasmin Shokrian, Opening Ceremony, Novis and Tanya Taylor.

    Tootsies
Tootsies Takes Off Sale begins July 10, and it's the boutique's biggest annual blowout. Get 50 to 70 percent off contemporary and formal wear, shoes, and accessories.

    Traffic LA
Also at The Joule, Traffic LA is currently having a sale on men's and women's clothing, which means savings up to 50 percent. Designers include Kenzo, Isabel Marant, Dsquared, Moschino, Ann Demeulemeester, Rick Owens and more.

Unique new coffee shop to open inside Coach handbag store in Allen

There's a new coffee shop coming to DFW that's riding a hot trend: It's called The Coach Coffee Shop, and it's opening inside the Coach store at Allen Outlet Malls at 820 W. Stacy Rd., where it will debut in summer 2026.

Coach is famous for its collector handbags, but the shop is a new venture for the company, in its efforts to court younger customers and entice them to stick around. There are currently six locations across the U.S., including one in Austin, which opened at The Domain in 2025. But the company has plans to add many more locations around the world, an expansion into tactile experiences to enhance retail sales.

The menu features coffee, espresso drinks like cappuccinos and lattes, cold brew, matcha lattes with rotating seasonal flavors, and iced beverages. The chain has partnered with Stumptown Coffee Roasters, the highly regarded bean purveyor based in Portland, Oregon, to craft an exclusive Coach Coffee blend that's served in the store, described thusly:

"Featuring notes of rich milk chocolate, sweet toffee, and finishes with sparkling blood orange, the blend is a beautiful balance of flavors from Latin America and Indonesia. Bold and versatile, the blend brews both a classic, everyday drip coffee and an elegant espresso."

They also serve pastries, the selection of which varies by store, but might include salted chocolate chip cookies, blueberry muffins, vegan carrot cake muffins, cinnamon rolls, savory scones, ham & cheese croissant, and soft-serve in waffle cones.

    There are two signature items:

    • Tabby Cake — an adorable chocolate treat shaped like Coach’s trademark Tabby bag
    • Lil Miss Jo Cookie — an edible version of the chain's coffee-cup animated mascot used in their ad campaigns

The coffee shop will be located inside the store, and construction is already underway.

With the opening, Coach joins a big trend of cafes located inside high-fashion retailers such as Prada, Chanel, and Dior, which debuted a rare location of Cafe Dior By Dominique Crenn — featuring a menu designed by the acclaimed chef — at their store in Highland Park Village in 2025.

According to a release, in addition to the Coach Coffee Shop, two other new stores are opening at Allen Outlet Malls: Timberland Outlet, known for creating rugged outdoor gear for men, women and children, opening next to Bath & Body Works; and Psycho Bunny, cult menswear brand that debuted in New York in 2005, opening next to Karl Lagerfeld.
