Where to Shop Now
Where to shop in Dallas right now: 8 must-hit stores for July
One good thing about living in a city with temps as hot as Dallas? Ice-cold air conditioning in all of the shops around town. Here are eight excuses to pry your posse from the pool and indulge in a little retail therapy.
Uncommon Man
Snider Plaza is now home to Kyle Shiels' made-to-measure men's shop with a goal of providing authentic, stylish, and high-quality brands within the tailored clothing market. Shirts start at $200 — and suits at $999 — which you can shop from the comfort of a big, cozy green couch while sipping Macallan.
Aesop
Melbourne-based body, hair, and skincare line is set to land on level one of NorthPark Center, between Neiman Marcus and Dillard's. The brand sources plant-based ingredients and is well known for its knowledgeable consultants who guide shoppers in their selections.
Cherry
Who can resist a good mani/pedi for a philanthropic cause? Cherry, the Dallas-based nail services-on-demand company, is offering a special summer deal. Dallas influencers (think Tina Craig, Amber Box, Kimberly Schlegel Whitman) have selected their favorite polishes, and when you choose them for your own mani or pedi, 5 percent of the cost will be donated to Dress for Success through August. More details here.
Dondolo Baby
This darling children's line has opened the doors to a beautiful Dallas flagship store in the Dallas Design District. Each piece of clothing is hand stitched by single mothers in Colombia, and proceeds from each purchase support children there. If your taste for your tots' clothes skews traditional, there is no better brand to shop.
Mizzen + Main
Did somebody say sample sale? Details are sparse, but we do know it's happening July 12-13, at 1444 Oak Lawn Ave., Ste. 114. Fans love Mizzen + Main's comfortable, breathable men's dress shirts, so a crowd could be possible. Expect a first-come, first-serve-style event, running from 5-8 pm on July 12, and 8 am-2 pm on July 13.
Nordstrom
It's everyone's favorite time of year: the Nordstrom anniversary sale. Card members get early access from July 12-19, but starting on July 20 everyone can take advantage of unbelievable deals that only come around once a year (and end on August 6). It's never too early to start on that holiday shopping...
Peacock Alley
Lovers of luxury linens, listen up. The annual Peacock Alley summer sale is happening July 20-28 at all Dallas-area stores and outlets. Besides the winter sale, this is your only other chance to stock up on all your favorite sheets and towels at a steep discount.
Room & Board
This shiny new shop in the Knox-Henderson area is now open and already helping Dallasites make practical, timeless, and comfortable design choices. The best news? The store is stocked with knowledgeable associates who offer free design services. That, and the fact that 90 percent of the products are manufactured in the U.S., can make you feel good about your purchase.
