New West Village retailers take holiday shopping up a notch
There’s some serious newness happening over in Dallas’ West Village, which is looking extra merry and bright this holiday season thanks to a crush of retailers that have recently opened their doors.
With amazing styles, wellness services, fresh dining, and even a path to better sleep, these places join the neighborhood's must-visit staples.
Here’s your at-a-glance guide to the goodness that’s now in store.
For yourself
Self-care can look like a lot of things, and one of those is incredible sleepwear and loungewear. That’s where Lunya comes in — they outfit the restful moments of everyday life, and even that WFH life, with washable silk sets and wildly comfy essentials like sweaters, pants, and dresses.
Lingerie shop Lively is another place that’s all about high style with ultimate comfort. They call it “leisurée”— athleisure for lingerie. That means you’ll find plenty of options with a sleek yet sporty sensibility. They also have a limited range of loungewear and activewear, too, to complement what’s worn underneath.
Laguna Beach-based jeweler gorjana has brought its effortlessly beautiful vibes to Dallas with an expanding range of necklaces, bracelets, rings, and earrings at all price points. Their new fine jewelry includes a classic diamond collection of timeless styles and the Melbourne collection of tennis bracelets plus a beautiful half tennis necklace with 36 brilliant diamonds.
For your sleep
Speaking of self-care, the restorative power of sleep starts with a good mattress. Saatva has that on lock with handcrafted, eco-friendly mattresses that are made to order in the U.S. with premium materials that meet the highest health and environmental safety standards.
They have best-in-class mattresses in five categories — innerspring, ultra-premium memory foam, all-natural latex, latex hybrid, adjustable air, and specialty designs for babies, youth, and bigger bodies — plus a complete collection of luxurious bedding and more.
For your wellness
With science-backed services and a spa-inspired feel, Restore Hyper Wellness is a comprehensive health and wellness center where you can get in on cryotherapy, IV drip therapy, assisted stretch, mild hyperbaric oxygen therapy, infrared sauna, red and near infrared light therapy, compression therapy, blood panels, HydraFacial, and Cryoskin treatments that will have you feeling better in no time.
The hot-and-cold game is also strong at SweatHouz. The new studio has infrared sauna, cold plunge tubs, hydromassage, and Celluma red light therapy, where you can relax while detoxing, improving circulation and skin appearance, and strengthening immunity.
Their “321 Sale” is currently offering three sauna sessions, two cold plunges, and one hydromassge with Celluma for $99. Discounted memberships and packages are also available.
For your entertainment
If you’ve missed catching a flick at Magnolia Theater, it’s reopening on Friday, December 9, as Violet Crown Dallas with a whole new lease on life.
The space was completely renovated with state-of-the-art digital cinema projection and sound along with luxe reclining seating. The opening lineup includes Tar, Empire of Light, and The Menu and the highly anticipated Avatar: The Way of Water debuts on Friday, December 16.
For your taste buds
Cali’s cool sandwich and salad concept Mendocino Farms has expanded its presence in Dallas with an outpost at West Village. Just don’t expect the basics between the bread here, with chef-driven faves like the original pork belly banh mi, “Not So Fried” chicken, Peruvian steak, and the Unreal Reuben. Or skip the bread altogether with a Thai mango salad or the avocado-quinoa superfood salad.
It's Taco Tuesday every day at Honest Taco. But this eatery is about so much more than everyone’s favorite handheld. Everything they make (literally) is completely gluten- and soy-free, too. No matter if you’re vegan, vegetarian, paleo, keto, or something else, they have a full menu of options — from street tacos, to bowls, breakfast, and even organic cocktails — so there will be no FOMO on flavors here.
