Pair of fab fashion boutiques coast into Dallas' Plaza at Preston Center for spring
Spring brings a fresh list of openings at The Plaza at Preston Center, with two new storefronts joining the other high-end brands, carefully curated boutiques, and beloved restaurants at the iconic open-air shopping center.
Co-founded in 2016 by the late designer Kate Spade and Elyce Arons, Frances Valentine focuses on shoes, bags, apparel, jewelry, and accessories.
Houston snagged the first Texas boutique in fall 2021, but now Dallas gets to shop the preppy styles that are showcasing florals, bold colors, vibrant prints, and chunky gold and jewels this season.
The brand, which lists Arons as the CEO, now has nine total locations across the East Coast and in the South.
When asked who Frances Valentine would be as a person, Arons describes her as "that favorite aunt, your best friend, and that person who makes you laugh harder than anybody else."
Luminary is also now open for shopping. Catering to “ladies who love to travel but are not pretentious with their timeless style,” Luminary sells women's apparel, accessories, and a curated collection of home decor, lighting, and textiles.
This spring, breezy neutrals with pops of pink and ocean blue are a nod to the brand's 2018 founding in Rosemary Beach, Florida, by world traveler Mariam Gulistan.
Luminary also has a charitable component, stating that it contributes "a percentage of its sales to various organizations supporting local homeless children throughout the Florida Panhandle as well as international projects that resonate with the Luminary family."
Lean into the fresh theme of new spring clothes by relaxing on the patio at any of The Plaza's restaurants. Hillstone, il Bracco, Muchacho, R+D Kitchen, and True Food Kitchen all boast excellent patios along with scrumptious menus. After all, a little shopping and patio time is always a good thing.
