Leaving the Nest
The end is near for one of Dallas’ favorite home and gift shops
Dallas will soon be down one fabulous home and design store. Nest, located on McKinney Avenue in Knox District, is closing on December 1. For 10 years, it provided discerning shoppers with furniture, linens, home accents, and gifts — many of which you could not find anywhere else in Dallas.
According to a release, owners Heather Wiese Alexander and Scott Alexander want to free up time and resources for their other brand, Bell’Invito. Formed in 2004, the fine stationery line just launched Bell’Invito Home, which includes desk and home accessories.
“During the past decade, Nest provided me a unique privilege to begin as shop girl, grow into creative director, and graduate to the investor seat,” says Wiese Alexander. “As I look forward from this vantage point, it makes bittersweet sense to change the course of Nest and take advantage of new materializing opportunities among our other ventures.
“I will miss the playground, the comedy, the patrons, and all the pretties — but I have a feeling we will have new places to meet up and play again soon.”
Until December 1, Nest is open Monday-Saturday, from 10 am-6 pm. It will be missed.
