Star Real Estate
Get a load of Allison and Mike Modano's star-worthy Dallas home
When Allison and Mike Modano put their Kelsey Square home on the market, Candy Evans of Candy’s Dirt was all over it. The former Dallas Star and his pro golfer bride, who are expecting twins, tapped Joan Eleazer at Briggs Freeman to list the property at 10453 Epping Ln. for $3.495 million.
Allison, who has an eye for interior design, worked with Scott Simmons to turn this house into a Hall of Fame-worthy estate. According to Eleazer, the home, on a quiet stretch in Preston Hollow, was a labor of love for the mom-to-be.
Speaking of family, there is plenty of room for a growing one in this 9,244-square-foot, six-bed, six-bath home. The new owners should plan on spending many nights in the family room cozied up in front of the fireplace, looking out onto their impressive pool and outdoor living area, accessible by three sets of French doors.

Carrera marble — in the foyer, master bath and on the kitchen countertops — keeps things sleek and bright, while immaculate chocolate-colored hardwoods in the living areas add warmth. Feminine touches — sparkling chandeliers, pretty patterned wallpaper — are balanced by more masculine details, like the plentiful built-ins in the office.
A cook would only dare to dream about this kitchen, replete with Viking appliances, including two built-in ovens, six-burner gas cooktop and warmer, built-in refrigerator and freezer, microwave, and dishwasher. A butler’s pantry and temperature-controlled wine closet ensure flawless entertaining, while a breakfast room provides a spot for intimate mornings together, just the family.
Have we mentioned the four-car garage? It’s a must in this driving town.
The downstairs master is large and in charge, with 11-foot ceilings, beautiful hardwoods, and a sitting area with a bay window that overlooks the pool and grounds. The his-and-hers master bathroom comes loaded with that Carrera marble, plus whirlpool tub and two large closets.
Upstairs are four additional bedrooms, each with private baths, plus another large living area with bar. And you can take any one of three staircases to get up there.
All this goodness and we haven’t even touched upon the outdoor spaces. There is a covered sitting and dining area with fireplace. And no need to dirty that pristine kitchen inside, because there is an equally fabulous one outside, stocked with refrigerator, grill and ice maker.
The pool provides a beautiful focal point, with its waterfall and spa. It’s easy to imagine yourself in a serene oasis far from the hustle and bustle of the big city.
And this beauty isn’t the only real estate the Modanos are unloading. Another home on Mimosa Lane just sold.
