Fun on the Fourth
Dave Perry-Miller & Associates present the Park Cities 4th of July Parade
The Park Cities Fourth of July Parade is a popular event for residents of Highland Park, University Park and surrounding areas. It’s so popular, in fact, that the event’s sponsor, Rotary Club of Park Cities, expects the event to draw more than 13,000 people.
Everyone’s invited to participate in the parade on bike, motorcycle, go-cart or float. Vehicles queue up along Euclid Avenue near Highland Park’s Town Hall, and the parade culminates in a festival at Goar Park, which is located next to University Park’s City Hall.
Dave Perry-Miller & Associates will be at the festival handing out ice-cold lemonade. One of the firm’s affiliates, The Rhodes Group, will host watermelon-eating contests, so come hungry. The party at Goar Park includes food, drink, music, entertainment and plenty of family fun.
There are myriad stunning homes within walking distance of the parade route, and Dave Perry-Miller represents several that shouldn’t be missed. Here are a few of our favorites:
3708 Harvard Ave. is located across from Dyckman Park. This spacious 7,375-square-foot traditional home features five bedrooms, eight baths, gourmet kitchen, wine cellar, screened rear loggia with fireplace and kitchen, master bedroom with outdoor balcony, three home office areas, music room, and nearly any amenity today’s family could want.
Three blocks east of the Beverly-Lakeside intersection is 3825 Stratford Ave., a 7,389-square-foot Roman villa with an open floor plan that overlooks landscaped verandas. Other amenities include gourmet chef’s kitchen, coffee bar, paneled library, wine room and an elevator.
Just one block northeast of Goar Park is 6810 Turtle Creek Blvd., an ultra-spacious traditional home with landscaped grounds, all-white gourmet kitchen, home offices, loggia with outdoor kitchen and abundant natural light.
Come on out to the Park Cities area on July 4, and join your neighbors in celebrating America’s independence. Parade participants line up at 7:30 am; bicycle judging starts at 8. The official parade start time is 9 am, culminating in the free family festival in Goar Park at 9:30. Complete details are available here.
