At the start of each New Year, more than 20 percent of American adults resolve to cut out alcohol for the month, and 66 percent of millennials are looking to reduce their alcohol intake.

But Athletic Brewing Co. doesn't see any reason to skip the brews and stop the fun during Dry January — or the rest of the year, for that matter.

Athletic Brewing's lineup is inspired by the company's two core loves: an active, healthy lifestyle and great beer. And since day one, Athletic Brewing's mission has been to combine them both without compromising on either.

"After indulging over the holidays, it's no surprise that so many people hit the reset button in January," says Athletic Brewing Co. co-founder Bill Shufelt. "We want to help people shift their mindset and make January into less of a sacrifice. The conversation around non-alcoholic beer has changed. It's no longer about restricting yourself. It's about rewarding yourself and making better choices."

This isn't your traditional watery, tasteless non-alcoholic beer. Using an innovative, proprietary method of brewing beer without alcohol, Athletic Brewing has created a lineup of non-alcoholic craft beers that doesn't compromise on taste. Like any good craft brewery, it's continuously brewing a range of styles, from non-alcoholic goldens and IPAs to darks and sours.

Whenever possible, Athletic Brewing sources local, all-natural ingredients and uses organic malts. The essential Athletic brews — Run Wild, Upside Dawn, and Free Wave — are available year-round, but it also crafts seasonal releases, pilot (or test) styles, and collaboration brews that highlight ingredients or flavors from favorite partners.

The Dry January Party Pack includes five six-packs of your favorite Athletic Brews (Run Wild, Upside Dawn, Free Wave, All Out, and Cerveza Atletica), a free limited-edition Dry January koozie, a free Dry January disposable camera, and a free "Drink Up & Stay Dry" hologram sticker. And right now it's only $59.99.

From day one, Athletic Brewing has committed to Two for the Trails, donating 2 percent of all sales to trail and park cleanups, maintenance projects, construction, and access. In 2021 alone, that fund totaled over $1 million.

So this year you can thrive, not just survive, during Dry January with these award-winning non-alcoholic craft beers, each of which is under 100 calories. Find your new favorite brews here, and find them in-store near you here.

Hollywood favorite Fatburger to open first location in Dallas proper

FAT Brands Inc. is opening its first Fatburger and Buffalo’s Express location in Dallas, in the Preston Hollow Village development, in the former Dugg Burger space next to the fabulous Modern Market at 7949 Walnut Hill Ln. #120, Dallas.

Recognized as a Hollywood-favorite, Fatburger is known for its cooked-to-order burgers, which can be customized with signature toppings including bacon, eggs, chili and onion rings.

A perfect complement to Fatburger, Buffalo’s Express’ menu includes delicious bone-in and boneless chicken wings accompanied by a range of mouthwatering sauces.

“Texas continues to be a high-growth market for Fatburger and Buffalo’s Express,” says Jake Berchtold, COO of FAT Brands’ Fast Casual Division. “The Dallas opening is a testament to the strong demand we have seen across the market, and showcases the recipe for success we have created with our fresh, made-to-order menu coupled with an energetic, welcoming dining environment.”

Originally founded in Los Angeles in 1952, Fatburger is from hospitality parent company FAT Brands, which features 17 hospitality concepts including the old-school burger restaurant Johnny Rockets.

Fatburger founder Lovie Yancey was a trailblazer in the realm of toppings transforming a burger into a meal, beyond the usual lettuce, tomato, onion, and pickles, with toppings such as bacon, eggs, chili, jalapenos, and onion rings.

In addition to burgers, Fatburger's menu also includes Fat and Skinny Fries, sweet potato fries, onion rings, Impossible Burgers, turkey burgers, crispy chicken sandwiches, and hand-scooped milkshakes made from real ice cream.

Their burgers are considered more "homemade" and less chain-y than California's In 'N' Out Burger, and over the years, it's been a favorite destination in Hollywood for celebrities and athletes.

Buffalo's Express is a fast-casual chicken wing chain that was founded in 1985 in Roswell, Georgia. It's currently co-branded with 72 Fatburger restaurants.

The Buffalo's Express menu adds bone-in and boneless wings, accompanied by celery, carrots, and blue cheese, ranch or honey mustard dressing, plus a range of original sauces.

Fatburger first debuted in DFW in North Richland Hills in 2020 with a combined Buffalo Express. That has since closed, as has the location that opened at Firewheel Center in Garland in 2022. There are currently three DFW brick-and-mortar locations in Arlington, Allen, and Sanger.

The new Fatburger and Buffalo’s Express is located at Preston Hollow Village. A grand opening celebration will be held on November 22 at 10:30 am, when the first 100 customers will receive a free fatburger. Guests can also score free fries with any purchase through the day.
