Cake Boss sets the date for teeny Carlo's Bakery in Frisco
Celebrity sweet maker Carlo's Bakery has set the date for the grand opening of its outlet in Dallas' hottest suburb of Frisco: Mark your calendar for February 4.
This is the famous bakery that's spotlighted in the TLC channel series Cake Boss.
The Frisco branch will be the 17th Carlo's and the second branch in Texas, and will open inside Stonebriar Centre mall. It'll be a different model than the first Texas store, which opened in Preston Center in March 2016.
Standing at just 300 square feet, it'll be a kiosk — a mini-Carlo's Bakery, offering sort of a greatest hits of the bakery's signature desserts such as cannolis, cupcakes, and the trademark lobster tail.
Buddy Valastro says that he realized after opening the first branch that DFW is a lot bigger than he realized.
"As I got to find out more about everyone, I quickly realized just how large the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex really is, and it dawned on me how much more convenient it would be for our fans and fellow foodies to have a chance to grab our delicious desserts closer to their homes," he says in a release. "The famiglia and I had just been playing around with introducing a kiosk concept then, and placing one in Frisco was on the top of my list."
Valastro intends to open more kiosks in the southern United States in 2017, but Frisco is the second in that model. The opening will begin with a ribbon-cutting at 8:30 am, and Valastro plans to be there with the giant scissors. So FYI shoppers, that's pretty much a guarantee that Stonebriar will be packed that day.
