Restaurant Week Reveal
Start making dinner plans now for DFW Restaurant Week 2014
The dates have been announced for DFW Restaurant Week 2014: August 11-17. That may seem far away, but it's not too soon to start making your dining plans.
This is the 17th annual DFW Restaurant Week. The 2013 version featured more than 125 restaurants.
"We are grateful for the community's participation and our amazing restaurants and sponsors," said Jan Pruitt, president of North Texas Food Bank, the recipient of this annual fundraising event, along with Lena Pope Home.
The list of restaurants isn't yet available, but it doesn't change too much from year to year. But with no list to share, the press release fills the time with some constructive throwing-of-the-gauntlet awards for the 2013 restaurants that made the biggest donations:
In Dallas, these were the top five:
- Pappas Bros. Steakhouse
- Al Biernat's
- Fogo de Chão
- III Forks
- Capital Grille in Plano
Fort Worth's top five included the following:
- Capital Grille
- Del Frisco's
- Grace
- Eddie V's
- Bonnell's
Huh. Eight out of 10 were steakhouses.
Winning the bronze medal for "best improved" are Capital Grille in Plano and Melting Pot in Arlington. And for "newbie of the year" for demonstrating "extraordinary enthusiasm" were Seasons 52 and Queenie's Steakhouse. Speech! Speech!
