Brisket-loving BBQ joint is new-old kid at Plano's Legacy food hall
Doors open and doors close at Plano's Legacy Hall and this one's an opening: A new barbecue stand called Brisket Love BBQ will open on the first floor of the food hall, across from Velvet Taco, where it will serve smoked meats and sides with a focus on sandwiches.
According to a release, it'll open March 10.
The pitmaster is Enrique Salvador. The same Enrique Salvador who was pitmaster at Carlton Provisions. Which is what Brisket Love BBQ replaces. Oh yeah, Carlton Provisions is closed.
"Management felt this was a better concept for the Legacy Hall clientele thus the replacement," a spokesperson says.
Not unlike Carlton Provisions, Brisket Love has Prime brisket, pulled pork, smoked turkey, and jalapeno cheddar sausage.
Not unlike Carlton Provisions, Brisket Love has sandwiches. Brisket Love also has smoked meat plates, brisket tacos, sides, and slushees.
Sandwiches include:
- Brisket Sandwich– served chopped, chopped in a spicy sauce, or sliced
- BBQ Brisket Banh Mi – chopped brisket, pickled slaw, spicy BBQ mayo, cilantro, served on a Hoagie roll
- Turkey Club – smoked turkey, thick cut bacon, white BBQ sauce, lettuce, and tomato, served on a Martins potato roll
- The Monster– chopped brisket, pulled pork, jalapeno cheddar sausage, horseradish coleslaw, house BBQ sauce, crispy onion straws, served on a Martins potato roll
Sides include pasta salad, baked potato salad, three cheese mac, chips & queso, Miss Vickie’s Kettle Chips — are potato chips really a side? — and loaded mac n cheese.
Slushees are made with cane sugar in flavors such as Cola, Cherry, Lemon, and Blue Raz.
Food Hall VP Kulsoom Klavon says in a statement that barbecue and sandwiches will be "extremely approachable" for both lunch and dinner.
