A buzzy new food market from Chicago is coming to Dallas. Called Foxtrot, it's a combination market/cafe/on-demand delivery service and will open its first Dallas location in Uptown.
This marks Foxtrot’s first market outside of Chicago. According to a release, it will open on McKinney Avenue in the space previously occupied by McKinney Avenue Tavern, with a date set for summer 2019.
A second storefront, address still TBA, is slated to open early summer, followed by the opening of a third storefront by the end of the year.
Founded in Chicago in 2013, Foxtrot blends neighborhood shop with on-demand delivery. The release says that Foxtrot has become Chicago’s first stop for a morning coffee, midday bite, late-night treat, with local beer, fine wines, gifts, and everyday essentials delivered in under an hour via its app and website.
Here's one way you can tell it's cool: The CEO uses the word "curated." Slam-dunk.
"We’ve had the opportunity these past few years to really define what matters to us – curation, convenience, and community – and refine the experience in which we bring all those values together for our guests,” says co-founder and CEO Michael LaVitola. "Whether you're coming over to meet friends for coffee, swinging by to pick up a new bottle of wine to try, or firing up the app to get some ice cream in a hurry, we've got you."
Each Foxtrot store offers a coffee bar, all-day café menu, beer on tap, wines by the glass, and lounge areas to work and relax.
In its Dallas locations, Foxtrot is partnering with Oak Cliff Coffee as its local roaster. The stores will also regularly host events to discover and interact with the best products, both local and national, meet interesting makers, and more.
Delivery service will be available in the Uptown and Downtown areas, Knox/Henderson, Park Cities, Lower Greenville, and Lakewood, with plans to expand delivery further north as additional locations open. No word on whether deliveries will go to south Dallas. Standing by on that.
Foxtrot tries to embody the neighborhood cafe while also offering a Foxtrot app for delivery in 60 minutes. Here's a great sentence: "Foxtrot connects people to a better kind of convenience with thoughtful curation, so everyone can feel good about the goods they buy every day."
