Does Martha Stewart heart Dallas? Yes. We're one of four cities where she's expanding distribution of Martha & Marley Spoon, her meal kits enterprise, in partnership with AmazonFresh.

Diners in Dallas, New York, San Francisco, and Philadelphia can now order Stewart's meal kits, delivered seven days a week. Each meal kit comes with an easy-to-follow recipe card that guides home cooks through six simple steps that allow you to cook a meal for two adults.

Offering Martha & Marley Spoon products through AmazonFresh allows consumers to experience the convenience and variety of meal kits, without having to commit to several nights of meals or order a week in advance.

Stewart says that the Amazon deal brings better weeknight cooking solutions to all customers.

"It is so important to cook wholesome, delicious, healthy dinners, and I believe people will enjoy the nutritious and seasonal recipes offered by Martha & Marley Spoon, coupled with the flexibility and convenience of AmazonFresh," she says in a release.

Delivered and designed with simple, quick everyday cooking in mind, and competitively priced, the Martha & Marley Spoon meal kits features quality pre-portioned fresh produce and proteins, artisanal ingredients, and healthy, quick-cook grains. Recipes will change seasonally to include the best ingredients available.

The big advantage is that you don't have to sign on to a service that requires you to buy more than one meal at a time, says Marley Spoon CEO and co-founder Fabian Siegel.

"This partnership enables added flexibility for consumers looking to incorporate meal kits into their dinner routine, whether it be for a single night or several different meals for the week," Siegel says.

With AmazonFresh, customers can combine grocery and other shopping into one seamless experience. Customers can order a wide range of items, including fruits, vegetables, meat, seafood, baked goods, and dairy products, as well as beauty products and household goods. AmazonFresh offers delivery windows seven days a week, including the option of either attended or unattended delivery.

To order the meals, go to Amazon/Marley. To use AmazonFresh Prime, go to www.amazon.com/amazonfresh and sign up for a free 30-day trial. After the trial, Prime members can continue to shop AmazonFresh for a monthly fee of $14.99.

An intimate American bistro with a rockstar team is opening at Dallas' Shops at Preston Hollow. Called Ella, it will open with a menu of modern comfort food in an upscale setting, in the former Chido Taco Lounge space at 7949 Walnut Hill Ln #130. According to a release, Ella is from restaurateur Blaine McGowan, who also opened Chido Taco Lounge, and will open for dinner on June 17, with lunch and weekend brunch to follow.

    Team
Executive Chef is Kyle Farr (Sachet, Boulevardier) oveseeing a menu that spans elevated comfort fare and chef-driven classics, combining familiar dishes with sophisticated flair. General manager and beverage director is Julian Shaffer, formerly bar manager at Rye, who recently won an award in the 2024 Michelin Guide Texas for Exceptional Cocktails — the first time this award has ever been given.

“We wanted to bring something to the neighborhood that wasn’t there—something welcoming and refined. We want to hit on all cylinders with this concept: exceptional food, drinks, and service,” McGowan says. “With Julian and Kyle leading the way, we have an opportunity to do something very special and bring a new experience to Dallas. Service is of the utmost importance to us, and we plan to provide guests with an amazing experience all around. Our focus is on the people, both employees and guests.”

    • Steak Tartare, made with tenderloin, Dijon, cured egg yolk
    • Pork Cheeks, with orange jus, roasted carrots, and sunchokes
    • Bolognese, with fresh pappardelle tossed in house-made sauce
    • Short Rib, slow-braised in red wine and accompanied by smoked sweet potato and charred broccolini
    • Salmon with roasted beet purée, chickpeas, parsnips, and roasted carrots.

    Decor
The 2,500 square foot space with 63 seats, including bar seating — plus an additional 600-square-foot mezzanine. The release says the space has a "female-forward feel" 🙄 blending modern design with an inviting atmosphere. Guests arrive through a romantically lit patio into an interior that feels warm and polished with earthy green paneled walls, 12-foot globe chandeliers, a red tile bar, and cozy booths. Hidden behind drapery lies a semi-secret staircase that leads guests to the mezzanine, where the existing Customs Speakeasy will remain open, offering craft cocktails crafted with premium Mexican spirits from bartender Jairo Castillo.
