Four Corners Brewing changes Texas craft beer game with new canned ales
Starting March 21, Four Corners Brewing Co. is killing two birds with one can, so to speak. The Dallas brewery will offer three of its Ale Day Ales in cans for the first time. But these are not just any cans. These “uncanny” drinking vessels are the first in Texas to feature the fully removable 360 End lid from Crown Holdings Inc.
You may recall a story from around this time last year, when Pennsylvania brewer Sly Fox was the first in North America to debut these lids. The fully open top gives imbibers a similar experience to drinking out of a glass. To keep it as local as possible, Four Corners is manufacturing the cans at a Texas production facility.
Four Corners beer cans will be available in 12-ounce six-packs. This initial release includes the following brews:
- Local Buzz (5.4% ABV). A golden ale brewed with locally sourced honey and rye malt. Expect a sweet floral aroma, light body, low bitterness and a slightly spicy finish.
- El Chingón IPA (7.6% ABV). An India pale ale with a special blend of bold American hops balanced with Munich malt. The beer is then dry hopped for an intense, fresh aroma, delivering a “hop machismo.”
- Block Party Porter (5.7% ABV). A smooth, chocolaty, easy-drinking porter with a round, full-bodied malt character. Expect medium bitterness and balanced sweetness.
The Four Corners six-packs will sell for $8.99-$9.99 at retailers such as North Oak Cliff Beer & Wine, Bolsa Mercado, Lonestar Beverage, Parkit Market, Central Market, Whole Foods, Kroger, Specs, Total Wine, H-E-B and Walgreens.
