Beer fests and restaurant crawls: The best food and drink events in Dallas
Easter is over, which means you don't have to talk to your extended family until Independence Day — or maybe even Thanksgiving, if you're lucky.
Put some spring in your step with a diverse but small batch of events for this week that range from fro-yo with a local Dallas reality star to samplings from 100-plus breweries from all over the country.
Thursday, April 4

Yumilicious Grand Opening with Courtney Kerr
Yumilicious in Las Colinas hosts a grand opening party from 5 to 9 pm with an appearance from Dallas reality TV personality Courtney Kerr. Big Texas Beer Fest
More than 100 breweries bring more than 400 craft beers to the second annual Big Texas Beer Fest. The festival, held in the Automobile Building at Fair Park, focuses on Texas breweries but also features ales outside the Lone Star State. Expect many special beers you won't find anywhere else, as well as a food truck alley and live music from bands such as Fish Fry Bingo, The O's and the Hanna Barbarians. Admission is $35 and gets you a card good for 12 2-ounce samples. You can buy more cards for $2 each.
Sunday, April 7

Dishcrawl is hiking through eight restaurants in Uptown, including 6th Street, Meso Maya Uptown and Pop Diner. The $40 crawl goes from 2 to 5 pm, and the price includes all the bites along the way. A portion of the proceeds goes to the North Texas Food Bank.
