It Takes a Couple of Villages
Neighboring Dallas suburbs get mass infusion of new dining options
Denizens in the northern suburbs are destined for some new dining options. The Village at Allen and Village at Fairview, the 5-year-old mega-complex at US 75 and Stacy Road, is expecting four new restaurants, two hotels and a bank, with openings slated between May 2015 and summer 2017.
Here's the highlights on the restaurant openings:
Village at Fairview
Wild Salsa will open in late spring 2015 near JCPenney and Zoës Kitchen. This is the second branch of the restaurant known for a regional Mexican menu with street tacos, cocktails and tequila flights culled from more than 100 options. The original is in downtown Dallas.
Not new but getting an upgrade is Gloria's, which is undergoing a 2,287-square-foot expansion with additional seating and private dining space. That's happening this summer.
The two hotels include Residence Inn by Marriott and Home2Suites by Hilton, both extended stays. Construction on the former begins in fall 2015; the latter's anticipated opening in summer 2017. Both hotels will be integrated into the fountain area on the north side.
Village at Allen
Bar Louie will open in June 2015 across from Pluckers Wing Bar. This will be the fifth DFW branch of the Addison-based chain, which describes itself as an "eclectic urban bar and eatery" with martinis.
The food lineup includes flatbreads, salads, sandwiches, burgers and one of the best press release phrases ever written: "oversized small plates." Do they mean medium plates? It's confusing because they also have large plates.
Bonefish Grill will open near Dallas Gold & Silver Exchange in late spring 2015. Founded in St. Petersburg, Florida, the restaurant specializes in market-fresh fish from around the world and wood-grilled specialties. In 14 years, the award-winning Bonefish Grill family has grown to more than 200 restaurants across the country, which is definitely a selling point.
Sushi Axiom will open in late spring 2015 across from Barbeques Galore. The menu includes Japanese fusion cuisine, sushi and sashimi. There are currently five Sushi Axioms around Dallas-Fort Worth.
