Seafood restaurant spins off lobster shack at Plano's Legacy Hall
Plano seafood restaurant Sea Breeze Fish Market & Grill is adding a lobster-centric eatery to the lineup at the new Legacy Food Hall in Plano. Called Sea Breeze Lobsta & Chowda House, it will offer a variety of New England-style seafood items, as well as a playful mockery of the New England accent. Because, really, nobody goes around saying "chowda" unless they're mocking someone.
Founded as a fish market with counter-service restaurant, Sea Breeze has been one of the top destinations in the area for fresh fish and seafood for the past 10 years. It was ahead of the pack with authentic lobster rolls and one of the few places in DFW with truly authentic New England clam chowder.
Set to open in late 2017, Sea Breeze Lobsta & Chowda House will celebrate those favorites. The restaurant will offer both New England lobster rolls and the lesser-known Connecticut hot lobster rolls. Wait, what? According to the Food Network, a Connecticut lobster roll is served warm, and the lobster is not tossed in mayonnaise but is instead served with a side of melted butter. The more common Maine-style lobster roll is really a "lobster salad" roll.
There'll also be raw oysters, New England clam chowder, and shrimp cocktail, plus monthly features from the more expansive menu at Sea Breeze Fish Market & Grill.
Sea Breeze founder-owner Rich Oruch says that Legacy Hall represents a great opportunity to reach new diners. It'll also be the only dining experience on the second floor, all the other 20-plus restaurants will be located on the first floor.
