New Downtown Restaurant
Lisa Garza selects downtown Dallas for Sissy's spinoff restaurant
Downtown Dallas will get a new restaurant and some tasty fried chicken from a big name in the food and beverage world: Lisa Garza-Selcer, owner of Sissy’s Southern Kitchen & Bar.
It’s a new concept called Shelby Hall, and it’ll be located at 1525 Elm St., at the corner of Akard, in the LTV Tower, a mixed-use development with a Hilton Garden Inn and luxury high-rise apartments that’s getting ready to open in July 2015. Shelby Hall is slated for a fall 2015 opening.
Named for the Tennessee county where Garza-Selcer was born, Shelby Hall will feature “modern regional cuisine” that pays homage to the Mississippi Delta and Lowcountry. The menu will focus on seafood, with an oyster/raw bar, as well as rotisserie game and fowl. Under the category of fowl, there will definitely be the signature fried chicken for which Sissy’s has become known.
The beverage program will be anchored by signature Jim Beam white and brown bourbon barrel-aged cocktails, as well as a curated wine and beer list.
Chef is Patton Robertson, formerly of Five Sixty by Wolfgang Puck. He’ll oversee dining operations at Shelby Hall as well as the kitchen at Sissy’s. Garza-Selcer, who rocketed to fame in 2008 when she was a contestant on season four of Next Food Network Star, has big plans to expand existing and develop new concepts in the future.
