Celebrity Move
Celebrity Bakery takes the goods from one Highland Park location to another
Highland Park Village staple Celebrity Cafe & Bakery is on the move, and the chain has new owners who have plans to expand. Brittany and Brian Livingston acquired the chain's four locations in late May. They plan to relocate the Highland Park Village store to the Shops of Highland Park at 4260 Oak Lawn Ave., one mile away.
"Our customers' loyalty has kept us a popular destination for almost 27 years and created the opportunity for us to move to a bigger location in order to better serve our customers," said Brian in a release.
Celebrity does cakes, pastries, cookies and seasonal sweets, along with sandwiches and salads. It has been in Highland Park Village since 1989.
Highland Park Village owner Ray Washburne said he'll be sad to see the cafe go. "We are thrilled that Celebrity Bakery is able to secure more space and continue to develop their thriving business," he said.
The Highland Park Village location will remain open through early 2016, offering a full menu through the end of the year. In 2016, the menu will be limited to signature bakery items and beverages.
The new location at the Shops at Highland Park is slated to open in November for the holiday season. The space will offer more seating, a consistent customer request.
The couple's goal is to grow the company over the next three years by opening additional locations, starting with Plano and Uptown in 2016.
"We've worked to bring Celebrity Cafe & Bakery back to its original glory focusing on quality, freshness and the customer experience," Brian said. "We have seen a renewal of the brand, and our customers are coming back to us as the word spreads that Celebrity is back."
