Untapped Festival turns up the volume with stellar headliner The Flaming Lips

The beer-and music-themed Untapped Festival returns to Dallas with two developments, including a new venue and a stellar headlining act.
The festival returns on Saturday, November 7, where it will take place at a new location: Fair Park. Topping the bill is famed psychedelic-rock band the Flaming Lips.
The Lips, who currently find themselves in an unlikely collaboration with Miley Cyrus, will headline a diverse lineup that spans three stages and includes Dr. Dog, Cloud Nothings, Elle King, The Pharcyde, The Mowgli’s, Lights, Steve Gunn, UME, and local Dallas bands Valise and Birds of Night.
Untapped is also getting into the realm of "perks" that include a VIP package with access to the Untapped Clubhouse, an exclusive stage viewing area where VIPs can lord their superiority over the rest of the attendees.
Inside this clubhouse, there'll be an open bar featuring beer, wine and spirits, plus food from Dallas vendors such as Luck, Scardello Artisan Cheese, Meddlesome Moth, East Hampton Sandwich Co., Glazed Donut Works and more.
Festival co-founder Matthew Harber calls the music lineup phenomenal. "Moving to a new, larger venue allows more people to come and enjoy incredible beer and music in the heart of Dallas," he says in a release.
Untapped debuted in 2012 and has since expanded to Fort Worth, Austin, Houston (September 12) and, for the first time this year, San Antonio (November 21). It will feature 100 breweries and more than 400 unique craft beers.
Presale tickets are available from July 7 to July 15. Public on-sale date starts July 16. Tickets begin at $45, which gets you entry, a tasting cup and 12 samples.
For $68, you are a VIP: You get the 12 samples plus early entry, access to the VIP tent and viewing platform, the special VIP tasting room, and in-and-out privileges.
For the Super VIP price of $135, you get all of the previously mentioned VIP privileges plus a T-shirt, lanyard, clubhouse access and the opportunity to stand on the side of the stage, which everyone knows is priceless and makes you look really cool.
