Barbecue restaurant comes to the rescue for Dallas' Lake Highlands
The Lake Highlands area of Dallas lucks out with the arrival of a new barbecue restaurant: One90 Smoked Meats, which opened its first location on Northwest Highway in East Dallas four years ago, will open a second location at the Lakeridge development.
It's a ways down the road: According to a release, it'll open in 2020.
Lakeridge is at the southeast corner of Audelia Road and Walnut Hill Lane, and is seeing a growing number of restaurants and retail. It's currently home to French bistro RM 12:20 and will soon welcome high-profile newbies, including possibly a second location of legendary Uptown Dallas bar Standard Pour (they haven't yet signed the lease), Vector Brewing, and Taco Joint.
One90 is named for what is considered to be the correct internal temperature for brisket.
According to the release, this location will be drastically different from the original. For starters, it has 2,883 square feet, so that means not just a restaurant but also a bar, bigger kitchen, and a market for take-home goods.
It'll be open for lunch and dinner, but customers can also have a local beer or pick up pre-cooked meat and sides for dinner.
The menu will be the same as the original, with brisket, pulled pork, sausage, steaks, sandwiches, and sides including potato salad, coleslaw, and mac 'n cheese.
Owner Kyle St. Clair says in a statement that they appreciate the success they've had at location No. 1 and hope to duplicate it with No. 2.
"Soon, with our new location and larger space, we’ll be able to offer a dine-in experience to our loyal customers and newcomers alike, while continuing to serve the foods that our guests love," he says.
