New restaurant near Dallas campus pairs craft beer with quick eats
A new beer spot and restaurant is opening in Richardson, just across from the University of Texas at Dallas. Northside Drafthouse and Eatery will open with an Italian menu that's designed to be fast-paced, allowing area workers and college students to get in and out quickly.
There'll be 50-plus beers on tap, a dog-friendly patio, a brunch program, 14 big screen TVs, plus billiards and darts.
Northside is a collaboration between several bar owners, who while competitive in business, are good friends. Collectively, the team has established popular college bars and restaurants in Texas, in Austin, Denton, College Station, and now Dallas; as well as around the country, including Knoxville, Tennessee; Fort Collins, Colorado, and Sanford, Florida. These guys have had bars everywhere you can ever have bars.
"We now have more than 16 highly-acclaimed concepts across the United States," says owner Blake Jutton in a release. "Each bar and restaurant is unique, but we are best known for our extensive draft beer and mixology programs."
Corbet Design + Build is doing a fancy finish-out with concrete flooring, indoor/outdoor service door to the patio, a keg cooler designed for more than 50 draft taps, and a custom 60-foot bar top that serves inside and on the patio.
Northside is set to open in October.
