Dallas speakeasy dubbed one of the hottest bars in America
Zagat, the rating system slightly more esteemed than Yelp, released its list of the “19 Hottest Bars in 11 U.S. Cities” this week. Dallas' Smyth is among the chosen few.
The sign-less speakeasy on Travis Street has been garnering attention ever since it opened last spring, so it’s a welcome sign that a national publication is recognizing a local spot.
Apparently cocktailian is the new mixologist. Make sure everyone knows.
The guide remarks that “this speakeasy of sorts from cocktailian Michael Martensen is one of those no-sign-on-the-door spots with no menu. Expect a liquid amuse bouche and then a personalized custom drink based on your descriptives.”
Apparently cocktailian is the new mixologist. Make sure everyone knows.
Zagat also notes the reservation policy of Smyth, which is important, considering the bar’s Facebook page named names of no-shows several weeks ago.
Two other Texas bars down in Austin made the list, despite being open just a few weeks. The Austin Beer Garden Brewing Co. and Wright Bros. Brew & Brew were recognized for their craft beer selection and overall Austin-ness.
