Austin's favorite taqueria brings taco love to Dallas
Austin-based Tacodeli, the cult favorite taqueria from chef-founder Roberto Espinosa and Eric Wilkerson, is bringing more fab tacos to Dallas-Fort Worth, with not one but two new locations set to open in 2018.
Both are in the Plano area. The first is at Parkwood Village, at Parkwood Boulevard and Highway 121 near Stonebriar Centre and Legacy West, and will open in the first quarter of 2018. The second will open at the brisk intersection of Preston Road and West Park Boulevard near Whole Foods; that one will open in mid-2018.
They join two branches in Dallas: one that opened at Sylvan Thirty in 2015, and another set to open at 8031 Walnut Hill Ln. in late 2017.
The first Tacodeli opened at Barton Skyway and Spyglass in Austin in 1999; chef-founder Roberto Espinosa and partner Eric Wilkerson have since expanded the chain to five locations in Austin, as well as a location in Houston, which opened in April.
Following a fast-casual format, TacoDeli has a menu of more than 40 made-from-scratch tacos with fresh ingredients. They use meats such as HeartBrand Ranch Akaushi beef and chicken with no antibiotics.
Their taco lineup includes the Cowboy Taco with beef tenderloin, corn, onions, peppers, guacamole, and queso fresco; and the Otto with refried black beans, bacon, avocado, and Monterrey Jack cheese.
Dressings, salsas, and sauces are made in-house. Agua frescas and dairy-free horchata are made with local produce and organic evaporated cane juice.
Their only shortcoming is their hours: They're open daily for breakfast and lunch, only. No dinner. Boo.
