These are the 6 best food and drink events in Dallas this week

It's a more quiet week on the food events front. The restaurants are gearing up for their holiday menus, and many folks are stress-eating their way through election week anyway. But there is one thing that we can all agree on: the events this week look to be absolutely delicious. Gear up for a happy hour where you'll learn about history, a dinner to celebrate Dallas' hottest neighborhood, and a beer release party fit for a queen.

Tuesday, November 6

Pour Yourself into History at The Belmont Hotel
The Dallas Historical Society presents a happy hour to learn about the unique history of one of Dallas’ most iconic places — The Belmont. Bring friends to sip, socialize, and “drink in” history knowledge in a fun, relaxed, and enjoyable setting. Admission is free and the event starts at 6 pm. 

Thursday, November 8

Maker's Mark Whiskey Dinner at Del Frisco's Grille Plano 
Join Del Frisco's Grille Plano for an exclusive four-course meal and whiskey pairings from Maker’s Mark. Courses include day boat scallops, fried Texas quail, pan seared rack of lamb, and an exciting dessert. Tickets are $125, and dinner starts at 6:30 pm.

Signature Dinner at One McKinney Plaza
This dinner celebrates Uptown Dallas Inc.’s 25th Anniversary and includes food, cocktails, live entertainment, photo opportunities, and more. Keynote speaker Matt Britton is the author of the best-selling book YouthNation and the CEO of Suzy. There will also be a special tribute to toast the Uptown Dallas Inc. founding members: Phil Cobb, Hank Rossi, Robert Shaw, Neal Sleeper, and Charles Womack. Tickets are $125 and the dinner starts at 7 pm.

Imperial Fire Ant Funeral Beer Release Party at Texas Ale Project
Texas Ale Project is hosting a party fit for a Queen, because Imperial Fire Ant Funeral is back. The event features a fresh pour of Imperial Fire Ant Funeral, live music by Robin Lore, and food on site at the brewery. Admission is free and the event kicks off at 4 pm.

Saturday, November 9

Dallas Best Tacos and Margarita Tour starting at Desperados Mexican Restaurant
Dallas Bites features unique gourmet tacos and authentic street tacos, including one named “Best in America” by Bon Appetit Magazine. Top it off with some of the best margaritas on the planet, Dallas-style. Tickets are $64 and include award-winning margaritas and tacos, motorcoach transportation, soft drinks, and water on the bus (you can also BYOB). Meet at Desperados Mexican Restaurant at 12:30 pm. 

Sunday, November 11

Meat Fight at Sixty Five Hundred
This event's goal is to raise money for the National MS Society and Meat Fight Inc. Twelve chefs will battle it out against Texas Monthly BBQ editor Daniel Vaughn to earn bragging rights for their brisket, sausage, and ribs. Tickets are $95 and the VIP tickets are $145. The event starts at 6 pm for general admission and 5 pm for VIP.
