Baking fun at 6 best food and drink events in Dallas this week
January is a good month for learning something new, and this week provides opportunity for just that. Cooking classes will teach participants how to bake like a British pastry chef, or prepare a New Orleans-inspired dinner for Carnival season. Don't miss a farmers market tasting event, and a French fry and champagne tasting worth the drive.

International Champagne & French Fries Day at Cave Society
The subterranean wine cave hidden inside downtown Grapevine’s Hotel Vin will host a posh pairing of French fries and champagne. Participants will get to partake in an array of champagnes from Folio Wines matched with fries and various dips. Tickets are $45 plus tax, and the event takes place from 5–7 pm.
Dallas Farmers Market Drink + Food Dash
Get a taste of the latest trends in food and drink for 2025 during this evening nosh-and-stroll event at the Dallas Farmers Market. More than two dozen participating vendors will provide bites and sips. Tickets are $35 plus tax and a small fee, and the event will run from 5–8 pm. Price includes a souvenir Dallas Farmers Market glass.
Bourbon Street at The Cookery
Prepare for Carnival season with a class on quintessential Bourbon Street cuisine. The Cookery culinary studio will teach participants how to make Cajun crawfish bread with pickled mirliton slaw, shrimp, chicken, and andouille sausage jambalaya with corn and pepper maque choux, and classic bananas Foster with homemade vanilla ice cream. Enjoy Hurricanes and wine pairings, too. The hands-on class is $125 and begins at 6:30 pm.

Readers' Afternoon Tea at Lavendou
Start 2025 with a Readers' Afternoon Tea, surrounded by fellow book lovers, enjoying the cozy ambiance of a French-inspired tea service. Great British Baking Intensive at Central Market Cooking School
There are just a few tickets left for this hands-on baking class at the Central Market Plano Cooking School, where participants will work with yeast to make some of Britain’s most popular pastries. The menu includes Victoria sponge with berries and cream, eccles cakes (puff pastry with currant filling), bath buns (yeast-raised buns with carraway and a sweet glaze), and ploughman's scones (cheddar scones sandwiched with apples and chutney). Class is $90 and will run from 1–4 pm.
