The arctic freeze may be upon us but that won't stop the food and beverage fun from happening in Dallas. There'll be hot toddies to drink, tequila to taste, and tacos to try. A downtown Dallas hotel is throwing a big Dolly Parton party, and a Deep Ellum brewery will host a class on brisket.

Monday, January 15
Cold-Weather Happy Hour at Ebb & Flow
Heat up with Ebb & Flow’s happy hour, which will start as soon as temps drop below 20 degrees this week. In addition to the normal happy hour, the bar and restaurant (which has locations in Deep Ellum and Plano) will serve $5 hot toddies, $5 spiked hot chocolate, and $5 grilled cheese with a cup of chicken tortilla or broccoli cheese soup. Regular happy hour items include $9 specialty cocktails, $2 off beer, wine, and liquor, and $7.99 appetizers.
Tuesday, January 16
Tacos & Tequila at The Wilfred
Plano’s first speakeasy has launched new daily happy hour specials, including $10 tequila cocktails and a $10 taco trio with shrimp or carnitas on Tuesdays. The Wilfred is located at the entrance to its sister restaurant, Sea Breeze Fish Market & Grill. Find the code to enter on The Wilfred’s

Wednesday, January 17
Plant & Sip at Times Ten Cellars
Create your own custom succulent bowl during this evening garden session at Times Ten Cellars. Guests will be guided step by step by a designer but may also divert to make the bowl their own. Tickets are $50 per person, and wine will be available for purchase. The class begins at 7 pm.
Soledad Tequila Tasting at Ellie's Dallas
Intimate tequila tasting will be led by Soledad cofounder Josh Irving, with food pairings by Ellie's executive chef Anthony Hsia. Learn about this high-end tequila brand with exclusive pours as the evening continues. Tastings include Joven Blanco Tequila & 15-Year Extra Añejo, Dos Barricas Tequila Añejo, 8-Year Tequila Extra Añejo, and Dia de Muertos 2023, a blend of Blanco, Añejo, & 13-Year Extra Añejo Tequila. It starts at 7 pm, with limited seating. Tickets are $150 and include valet parking.

Dolly’s Birthday Bash at Rodeo Bar
The Adolphus bar will celebrate the country music queen’s 78th birthday with a night a of glamour and glitz in true Dolly fashion. Guests can enjoy Dolly-inspired cocktails, like The Pink Drink, made with gin, cranberry juice, pink peppercorn, and Luxardo maraschino cherries. One dollar from every signature cocktail sold will be donated to Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library. Dress like Dolly for a look-alike contest, led by a Dolly impersonator who’ll serve as the evening’s host. The party will run from 8–10 pm.

BrisketU at Deep Ellum Brewing Company
Deep Ellum Brewing will host a brisket-smoking session with the experts from Backyard Pitmasters. Learn how to work a pit like a pro, from selecting the beef to slicing the end product. The class is $94 per person ($84 for additional participants) and begins at 9 am.
