Valentine’s Day is finally arrives on Tuesday (find that dining list here), but the rest of the week calls for some tasty education. There’s a latte art workshop, cooking class featuring Indian spices, and a bus tour showcasing gluten-free foodie finds in Dallas. Also, celebrate Mardi Gras a little early with a New Orleans-inspired wine pairing dinner by way of a Southern restaurant in Addison.

Trinchero Pairing Dinner at Ida Claire
The Southern-inspired restaurant in Addison will host a six-course dinner paired with wines from Trinchero Family Estates. With Mardi Gras just around the corner, the menu features lots of Crescent City inspiration. There’ll be oysters on the half shell with prosecco granita, crab cakes with Creole remoulade, crawfish bisque, mustard butter prawns, blackened catfish etouffee, and warm apple fritters dusted with powdered sugar. Dinner is $115, plus tax and gratuity, and begins at 7 pm.

Latte Art Workshop at White Rock Coffee
Classes at this popular neighborhood coffee shop typically sell out quick, but the higher price point on this more involved workshop might increase your chances of getting in. Tickets are $120 for the hands-on lesson, which will cover the basics on how to steam milk with a high standard along with pouring art so it’s “simple, fun, and repeatable.” Participants will learn how to pour a heart, a tulip, and a rosetta. Class will run from 10 am-12:30 pm.
Ayurvedic Cooking at Atma Bhakti Center
This two-hour workshop will cover the healing properties of everyday herbs and spices using Indian recipes with various beans, lentils, rice, and veggies. The $30 class fee includes lunch. Class will run from 10:45 am-12:45 pm at the Atma Bhakti Center for yoga, cooking, and meditation.
Gluten-Free Finds Tour
Looking for new gluten-free options in Dallas? Hop aboard a motorcoach for a guided tour of delicious, gluten-free dishes at various restaurants. Stops will include Pie Tap Pizza Workshop + Bar and Bellagreen, among others. The $71 ticket includes non-alcoholic beverages aboard the bus, and the tour will run from 12:30-4:30 pm.

Kids in the Kitchen: Mardi Gras King Cake at Farmers Branch Historical Park
This kids’ baking class hosted by the Farmers Branch Historical Park provides for the perfect holiday activity. Kids ages 7-15 are invited to register (there are very few spots left) to learn how to make a Mardi Gras king cake using cinnamon roll dough. Participants will take home their own boxed cake complete with the hidden baby. Class is $50 per person and will run from 1-3 pm.
