This week's roundup of food and drink events around Dallas has several unique pairings: Pilates and palomas, Asian cuisine and craft beer, and pimento cheese at a PGA golf resort. There's also a new sky-high spot for girls night out, and a foodie sampling stroll that will make grocery shopping feel like a tropical getaway.

Here's the top foodie events of the week:

    Wednesday, April 10

Pilates & Palomas at Hall Arts Hotel
Pair Pilates with grapefruit-infused palomas at Hall Arts Hotel, who’ll host a 50-minute mat-based class from Pilates 214 followed by a lesson in paloma-making by Lalo Tequila. The event is $25 and begins at 5:30 pm.

    Thursday, April 11

A Taste of Augusta at PGA Frisco
Savor the flavors of the Masters Tournament, held in Augusta, Georgia, during this watch party at The Monument Realty PGA District. Live tournament coverage will air on the 900 square-foot video wall, while dining venues including Ice House, Ryder Grille, and the Lounge by Topgolf will serve Augusta-inspired cocktails and dishes, like the Matsuyama Poke named for 2021 winner Hideki Matsuyama. Tournament staples like the fan-favorite pimento cheese sandwiches, chicken salad, and egg salad sandwiches will also be available to purchase. Golf fans can partake in the festivities through the end of the tournament on Sunday.

Jewels of the New World Wine Dinner at Del Frisco’s Double Eagle Steakhouse
Guests will enjoy a one-of-a-kind five-course meal with the iconic Don Melchor Cabernet Sauvignon while exploring hidden gems and unique terroirs within Chile. Courses include a crude duo of sashimi & oysters, sea bass, pork tenderloin, and Prime ribeye rubbed with cacao and coffee, paired with Chilean wines such as cabernet, pinot noir, chardonnay, and sauvignon blanc. The dinner is $225 and starts at 7 pm. Buy tickets for Plano here, and Dallas here.

    Ladies Night at Waterproof
The Statler hotel’s sky-high rooftop pool and bar welcomes all glam girls for a new Thursday ladies night. There’ll be music by female DJ Avii Glow along with $7 espresso martinis and sparkling wine. All wine and charcuterie boards are also half-off during the event, which runs from 7–10 pm. Admission is free for ladies 21 and up.

    Saturday, April 13

Tropics Sampling Stroll at Central Market
Go on vacation via the aisles of Central Market during this tropical tasting stroll. There’ll be fruit, desserts, island-inspired meats and seafood, and much more to try while perusing the serpentine store. Brightly colored prints encouraged. Register ahead and get a $5 coupon. The stroll will take place from 2-5 pm at all locations.

    Sunday, April 14

214 Asian Foodie Market at Four Corners Brewing Company
Dallas brewery will host its first ever Asian food market featuring more than a dozen food vendors, including Boba Babe Club, J Wok Kitchen, and Inu-san Onigiri. Visit from 1–6 pm for the indoor event. Admission is free.

Last Chef Standing Watch Party at Fanzo Sports Bar
Frisco sports bar is hosting a watch party for the premiere of Food Network’s 24 in 24 Last Standing Chef. Contestants included Fanzo executive chef Vijay Sadhu and Dallas chef Kess Eshun. Both will be at Fanzo for the viewing party, which will include a 3-course spread: Moroccan-spiced ground turkey with saffron rice, almond-crusted striped bass, and Texas-style pecan bread pudding. Tickets are $100 and the fun begins at 6:30 pm.

A new wine bar and bistro has opened in Flower Mound. Called Vinifera Wine Lounge & Bistro, it's at 4120 River Walk Dr., in a space formerly occupied by a short-lived pizzeria, joining a string of bars overlooking the Riverwalk.

Vinifera is from Jamie Creevy, a British native who moved to Dallas in 2007, and who has worked at concepts such as Henderson Tap House and Peppersmash Concepts. At Vinifera, he's partnered with Chris Kummer, a former US Marine with experience in nightclubs and restaurants, including Chill in Grapevine.

Running the kitchen is executive chef Justin Samsill, who has worked at a wide range of high-end places including Knife, Town Hearth, The Mitchell, Smoke, and Hide. The menu has a big selection of seafood such as mussels, shrimp cocktail, squid pasta, and scallops, as well as steak au poivre, pasta bolognese, and trendy items such as steak frites and a smash burger, with entrees ranging from $19 to $35.

Vegetarian options include an unusual rendition of ratatouille, in which vegetables such as eggplant and tomato are cut into slices and arranged like a pinwheel. There are also salads and harissa carrots with Greek yogurt.

They describe the wine list as being "from all over the world", with 38 offerings by the glass. There are also cocktails.

Between the indoor dining room and outdoor space, the restaurant seats about 130 people. It shares a private event room with next door neighbor Whiskey & Smoke.

Riverwalk is the 158-acre mixed used development developed in 2017 and designed as a destination resembling the Riverwalk in San Antonio, with live music, events, and a range of eatery options including Whiskey & Smoke, Pennywise Pub, and Underdogs Burgers & Brews.

“We are looking to be creative and pivot to keep the area fresh," Creevy says. “People are looking for live music, value, free events, we want to entertain the residents and the community at an inexpensive rate."
