Ex-Corner Bakery at Dallas' Preston-Forest to soon sling oysters & cocktails
It was a sad day when the Preston-Forest location of Corner Bakery Cafe closed in March '22 after nearly 25 years. Dry your eyes because it can now be revealed what is going into that space.: Hudson House Restaurant, the East Coast-inspired concept from Vandelay Hospitality Group (Drake’s Hollywood, Brentwood, East Hampton Sandwich Co.).
According to a representative, the restaurant will open in 2024 at 11700 Preston Rd.
Hudson House made its debut in Highland Park in 2017 with a menu pairing East Coast comfort food inspired by the culinary history of the Hudson Valley with the approachable atmosphere of a neighborhood hangout.
In Dallas, they currently have three other locations in addition to Highland Park: Lakewood, Addison, and Las Colinas.
The menu specializes in American classics, classic cocktails, and seafood, including a raw bar with oysters.
Menu highlights include:
- Cheeseburger
- Chicken Parm
- French Chicken
- Lobster Roll
- Fish Tacos
Cocktails include the "World’s Coldest Martinis," for which they truly need a registered trademark if they don't already have one.
This will be the third Vandelay concept in the neighborhood, following D.L. Mack’s, the classic tavern serving thin-crust pizzas at Preston & Royal; and the forthcoming Anchor Fishbar, opening this Summer at the Preston & Royal Shopping Center.
Last spring, Hudson House opened its first west coast location on Sunset Boulevard in the Beverly Hills neighborhood of Los Angeles. Later this year, Vandelay is set to open locations in the River Oaks District of Houston and down the street from Rivercrest Country Club in Fort Worth.
Hudson House Preston Hollow will be the eighth outpost of the brand, and will be Vandelay’s 21st restaurant.
