Upscale Southern restaurant spreads Dallas wings to Cedar Hill center
A Southern-styled restaurant from Addison is opening a second location: Spatch Kitchen + Cocktails, which serves American cuisine and cocktails with a Southern touch, is opening a location at Hillside Village, an open-air regional retail center at 305 W. FM 1382, in Cedar Hill, south of Duncanville.
According to a release, it will take over a 7,500-square-foot space and is anticipated to open in summer 2024.
Spatch Kitchen + Cocktails was founded by Mondana Taghizadeh, a lawyer and restaurateur whose previous co-ventures include Brined Southern Kitchen and Porcino.
The first Spatch opened in 2021 in Addison, in a high-profile spot at Belt Line Road and the Tollway. It nearly closed during the pandemic but clung on with a program of sports-watching parties and special events as well as brunch, lunch, and dinner.
Brunch is served both Saturday and Sunday, with a menu that includes Texas Toast Casserole, Crab Omelet, and Souffle Pancakes, plus salads and sandwiches.
The dinner menu features Old Fashioned Cornbread and Deviled Egg Spread, and entrees like Spatchcock Chicken, Speckled Trout, Maine Lobster, Blackened Texas Redfish, Gulf Shrimp, and Dry-Aged Pork Chop.
The Addison location has a full bar with beer, wine by the bottle and glass, and cocktails such as the Sazerac, Pimm’s Cup, and Martinis.
Hillside Village boasts a lineup with Dick’s Sporting Goods, Barnes & Noble, Old Navy, H&M, F21 Red, Victoria’s Secret, Dillard’s, Express, Finish Line, James Avery, Claire’s, Kay Jewelers, Chico’s, Champ’s Sports, Dallas Cowboys Pro Shop, and restaurants such as Razoo’s Cajun Café, Mo’s Italia Express, Moon Sushi & Ramen, Menchies Frozen Yogurt, and Great American Cookie. Nobody goes hungry at Hillside Village.
Gretchen Miller, Emilie G. Paulson, and Bryn Carden with Weitzman handled negotiations for Hillside Village on behalf of PREP Property Group. Spatch was represented by Morrow Hill LLC.
