Stiffler's founders Tammy and Rick Stiffler have been food vendors at the State Fair of Texas since 1990, and are big names in the annual Big Tex Taste Awards with creations such as Fried S’mores, Fried Lemonade, and Fried Pumpkin Pie. The family has a cherished recipe for chocolate chip cookies that's been passed down through generations.
In 2017, Tammy added a little pop culture reference when she introduced Stiffler’s Mom’s Cookie Factory at Fair Park, with a humorous nod to Stifler’s Mom, who appeared in the 1999 film American Pie.
