In this edition of dining news around Dallas, local restaurants are getting revamped, adding spiring menus, introducing new dishes, and serving up sweet drinks with one crazy collaboration. Hint: Think Peeps.

Urbano Cafe, the east Dallas restaurant that was acquired just about one year ago by Pasha and Sina Heidari (Mike’s Gemini Twin in the Cedars, Bowen House, Las Palmas Tex-Mex), has debuted an all-new food menu— part of a collaboration with Dallas chef William Salisbury — who won CultureMap's Tastemaker Awards Rising Star Chef in 2024, and who is consulting with the Urbano team including chef Oseas Rivera. The menu offers new takes on Urbano's Italian-American approach with dishes like Lobster Raviolo Fra Diavolo, Baked Mezzi Rigatoni, and Salmon Pesto & Asparagus. A renovation of the space includes new stemware, cutlery, dinnerware, linens, updated patio, refreshed interior decor, and remodeled bathrooms.
Chipotle opened a location at 1831 Military Pkwy. in Mesquite on February 3. The new location has the first "Chipotlane" in Mesquite, a drive thru pick-up lane that allows customers to pick up digital orders without leaving their cars.
Bbbop Seoul Kitchen in Oak Cliff has launched a boba tea program featuring both fruit tea and milk tea. Flavors include mango, strawberry, peach, an Arnold Palmer, brown sugar milk tea, and taro milk tea. Topping options include lychee coconut jelly, popping mango, and popping strawberry. Available in 16-ounce and 24-ounce options starting at $6.
Rusty Taco launched a new menu featuring cracked tostada shrimp ceviche, rolled tacos, all-day breakfast burritos, and a 12-taco package for $49. The menu will be available at three locations in Dallas ahead of a national rollout, including the Greenville Avenue flagship, Hurst, and Denton.
Cerulean Blue, the Flower Mound coffee house, has introduced two cookies of the month: gooey butter cake and stuffed red velvet cookie. The Red Velvet Cookie is their first-ever stuffed cookie - a soft and chewy cookie dotted with white chocolate chips and with a velvety cream cheese frosting center. The Gooey Butter Cake Cookie has a butter cookie flavor with a chewy center. Cookies are $4 each. Available until the end of February.
Broken Yolk Cafe, the brunch restaurant in McKinney, is offering two seasonal items: plant-based power wrap with vegan chorizo and vegan egg for $15, and yuzu lemonade cooler with Monin Yuzu puree for $6.
Tacodeli has brought back the quesa birria taco featuring a griddled corn tortilla filled with Nolan Ryan Beef roast and Monterey Jack cheese, topped with crema Mexicana, paired with consommé. It's $5.50 and available through February 28.
Komodo has teamed up with La La Land, the Dallas based coffee shop, for a new matcha martini cocktail featuring Tito’s Vodka, La La Land matcha, and Irish cream — delivering an energizing sip with a little kick. The drink is $20, but can be upgraded to 818 Reposado Tequila for an extra $4. It's available at all three Komodo locations—Dallas, Miami, and Las Vegas.
Moxies just launched a new brunch menu with items such as the $18 big breakfast with eggs, jalapeño pork sausage, bacon, home fries, tomato, and multi-grain toast; $35 steak & eggs with an 8-ounce prime sirloin, eggs, also with tomato, home fries, and multi-grain toast; and $20 farmers hash, with pancetta, jalapeño pork sausage, roasted vegetables, pickled onions, poached eggs, home fries, and hollandaise. A new build-your-own mimosa option features choice of bubbles paired with orange, pineapple orange, or grapefruit juice.
HTeaO, the iced tea chain, has a new partnership with Poppi prebiotic soda, blending poppi’s sodas with HTeaO’s iced tea in flavors including trop poppi, peachy poppi, and dirty cherry poppi. The drinks are $5.49 for the 24-ounce and $7 for the 32-ounce.
Cracker Barrel has a spring brunch menu with four new items: Oreo stuffed cheesecake pancakes, strawberry stuffed cheesecake pancakes, Louisiana style shrimp skillet, and shrimp & grits. There are also two new drinks — pancake latte and strawberry peach lemonade — and a new strawberry icebox pie dessert. Available at Allen, Arlington, DeSoto, Grapevine, Mesquite, and Rockwall locations.
Dakota's Steakhouse, the subterranean restaurant in downtown Dallas, is opening on Sundays for the first time in 40 years. They’ll open on Sunday evenings from 5-9 pm, and in addition to their regular menu, are adding Prime Rib, which they're calling "Prime Rib Sundays," exclusive to Sunday nights only, in 12-ounce and 16-ounce sizes.
Torchy’s has three new "Torched" bowls: the big tipsy with bourbon bacon marmalade, fajita chicken, and onions; the bonfire bowl with jerk chicken or blackened salmon with pistachios, mango, and avocado sauce; and the moontower with shrimp, cotija, black bean & corn relish, and champagne vinaigrette. Bowls start at $10.50. These are but the first; a new bowl will drop each month through April 16.
Promised Land Dairy has partnered with marshmallow candy brand Peeps to offer a limited-time Peeps Sweet Marshmallow Milk, with a sweet marshmallow flavor. Available at Dallas grocery stores through April 20.
Sheraton Dallas has appointed a new executive chef: Miguel Neira, who will oversee all aspects of the hotel’s food operations, including the banquet facilities and four distinctive food and beverage outlets including: Open Palette, Draft Sports Bar & Lounge, Open Mkt. Grab ‘n Go, and The Parlor. Born and raised in a small coastal town in Ecuador, Neira began his culinary career with Marriott in 2007 as Restaurant Chef at the Renaissance Vinoy Resort in St. Petersburg, Florida. He held leadership roles in Cleveland, Chicago and Tampa, and since 2021, has served as Executive Sous Chef at Gaylord Palms Resort & Convention Center.
