Jewelry designers mix it up with Dallas social set at Ylang 23 grand opening party
It was a special night for Ylang 23 as owners Joanne and Charles Teichman swung open the doors to their brand-new jewelry store at the Plaza at Preston Center. The boutique has a “Paris chic” meets “Soho cool” vibe, which reflects the love the couple has for Paris and New York.
DJ Lucy Wrubel got the party started by spinning for guests from the shop’s balcony, which was finished with a vintage wrought-iron railing from New Orleans. Guests — including Lynn McBee, Joyce Goss, Kenny Goss, Kimberly Schlegel Whitman, Leisa Street, Karla McKinley, Piper Wyatt, Cate Ford, Katherine Reeves, Jon Tutolo, Matthew Simon, Claire Emanuelson, Muffin Lemak, Beth Ewing, Robin Ladik and Kira Plastinina — grabbed the evening’s signature cocktail, the Left Bank Martini, and browsed every inch of the place.
A slew of designers — including Stephanie Wynne and Jenny Klatt of Jemma Wynne, David Rees and Ron Anderson of Ten Thousand Things, and Nak Armstrong — also showed up to congratulate the Teichmans.
Michael Golman Partymaker and Co. whipped up delicious bite-size beef tenderloin on herb rolls, jumbo lump crab cakes and seared ahi tuna on wontons. Panini Bakery provided precious cupcakes topped with custom sugar discs.
To celebrate the new store, 10 percent of all Ylang 23 sales from now through March 2 will benefit the North Texas Food Bank partner agency Food 4 Kids.
