The Brunch Bunch
Black Tie Dinner taps into Dallas brunch bunch with inaugural event
What: Black Tie Dinner Brunch
Where: The Crescent
The 411: More than 100 guests arrived to celebrate this inaugural brunch to increase support for the Black Tie Dinner's 2017 beneficiaries. Guests were treated to mimosas with orange popsicles from Social Ice, served to them personally by a Cher impersonator, and an Absolut Elyx Bloody Mary cart was on hand as well. Hungry guests were delighted to find a cooked-to-order omelet station, crab cakes, and chicken and waffles to enjoy while mingling with old friends and meeting new ones.
Attendees also had the chance to create their own succulent terrariums, pose for a caricature, leave messages on a graffiti wall, and listen to the smooth sounds of guitarist Jason Bennett. Lucky raffle winners left with spring bow ties designed by Jeremy Michael Calhoun, and the VIP swag bags included pocket squares and custom shirts from Austen Dor, along with Jason Mason wallets and gift cards to Orno and Top Knot.
Black Tie Dinner is slated for Saturday, November 11. Since its inception in 1982, it has been the largest fund raising dinner for the gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender community in the nation. Each year, Black Tie Dinner selects up to 20 North Texas beneficiaries to receive dinner proceeds as well as the Human Rights Campaign Foundation, the Dinner's national beneficiary. To date, Black Tie Dinner has distributed over $21 million.
