Where: South Side on Lamar
The 411: Event chair Trey Pugh and honorary chairs Mona and Bill Graue welcomed guests to the 1950s-style sock hop benefiting Dallas Heritage Village. Guests came dressed in poodle skirts and leather jackets and sipped punch bowl cocktails while enjoying dance lessons by The Rhythm Room to time-specific tunes by DJ Jennifer Miller.
After dancing up an appetite, guests helped themselves to hot dogs, sliders, deconstructed turkey TV dinners, Highland Park Scotch Granitas, and more. There were also competitive silent and live auctions where guests battled for lust-worthy prizes and travel packages.
Dallas Heritage Village is an immersive history museum set on 20 acres featuring 19th-century pioneers and Victorian homes and commercial buildings in Texas. These 25 historic structures depict life in Dallas from 1840-1910. History With a Twist supports learning opportunities for students and adults at Dallas Heritage Village.
