Couple's vision of elegance and fun comes to life in their spring North Dallas wedding
Jordan Isom and Wilson Neely’s love story started eight years ago in Fayetteville, Arkansas. The couple met while attending the University of Arkansas and started dating three years later.
After four years together, Wilson proposed in front of his parents' North Texas house with a display straight out of a rom-com.
“His sweet line was, ‘This is the first place I told you I loved you and the last place I want to call you my girlfriend,’” says Jordan. “And he got down on one knee. It wasn’t anything fancy, but it was absolutely perfect for us.”
The couple got to work planning the big day. And with only seven months until their May 2017 nuptials, they had their work cut out for them.
“Some days were a lot,” admits Jordan. “But the day of was beyond perfect.”
Jordan envisioned a wedding straight out of a fairytale. Something “simple, but elegant and classy,” shared with all of their family and friends.
For the ceremony, the couple chose St. Andrew United Methodist Church in Plano, the church Wilson grew up in. As for Jordan’s fairytale vision, party planner Leah Frizzell was instrumental in bringing it to life.
The Westin Galleria of Dallas provided the reception space, which was brimming with floral arrangements featuring ostrich feathers for a little something extra.
“I thought they made such a different but classy statement,” says Jordan.
The couple saw the band Signed Sealed Delivered at a friend’s wedding and “just had to have them” for their own big day. After the crowd cleared, the newly minted Mr. and Mrs. enjoyed a private dance to Marvin Gaye’s "Let’s Get it On" and exited to much fanfare.
“We walked out to all of our favorite people lined up with confetti cannons — highly recommended — and the band playing behind us,” says Jordan. “It was such a sweet ending to the most perfect day of our lives.”
