Dallas YPs raise a glass to fighting cancer at beloved BubblyQ
What: BubblyQ presented by the Young Texans Against Cancer
Where: Fearing's at the Ritz-Carlton Dallas
The 411: Some of Dallas' top restaurants gathered on an October evening to pull off one of the city's favorite YP events: BubblyQ. Champagne flowed as 500 guests sipped and sampled the evening away — all while raising $134,000 for Young Texans Against Cancer (YTAC).
Run completely by volunteers, YTAC is an independent, nonprofit organization that supports cancer charities and research organizations in the Dallas area. The board is composed of young men and women who have either lost or witnessed a loved one fighting cancer.
The organization uses its member base to increase awareness of volunteer organizations and help to educate the community on cancer research. This year, beneficiaries included Mommies In Need, Camp iHope, Asian Breast Health Outreach Project, and Mary Crowley Cancer Research.
Throughout the event, Eddie "Lucky" Campbell mixed up cocktails with Dolce Vida Tequila and Roxor Gin, while Douglas Adams and DJ Jose provided musical entertainment.
Savory and sweet bites from top area restaurants included Beverleys, Bisous Bisous, Bright Box Foods, Bullion, Central Market, Fearing's, Five Sixty, Imoto, Jalisco Norte, Nobu, Parigi, Salum, and The Charles. A few favorite local chefs and restaurateurs were among the crowd, including Chas Martin, Bruno Davaillon, Janice Provost, Greg Katz, and of course, Dean Fearing, who also serves as honorary chair.
