A Very Deb Holiday
VIPs help Dallas Symphony debutantes ring in the holidays at Meyerson Symphony Center
The 2014 Dallas Symphony Debutantes got into the holiday spirit with a festive evening at the Meyerson Symphony Center. These lovely young ladies were joined by their families, the honor guards and two very noteworthy Dallasites: Gene and Jerry Jones.
The Jones are the honorary co-chairs for the upcoming 28th annual Presentation Ball — which only makes sense, as two of their granddaughters are being presented, Haley Anderson and Jordan Jones.
On this cheery occasion, Dallas Symphony Orchestra League president Ginger Sager and Presentation Ball chair Dixey Arterburn welcomed attendees, and emcee Stan Gardner introduced the 38 debs, including , Anna Coppola, Meredith Bayoud and Mattie Berry.
The evening was just a taste of what was to come during the holiday weekend, which included a mixer for the debs and honor guards as well as a “bow boot camp” for all of the girls.
Of course, these soirees are a distant second to the grand gala, the Presentation Ball, which is set for February 8, 2014. The ball, which dates back to 1987, is the DSOL’s largest fundraiser, bringing in more than $9 million to support the Dallas Symphony Association’s community outreach and education programs.
“The DSO League’s members do so many wonderful things to help promote the arts in our community,” said Gene Jones. “Through their passion and enthusiasm, the symphony is able to touch so many lives in a positive way through music, and we are proud to be a part of their efforts.”
