Carrie Underwood to headline Dallas' ultimate Western-glam party of 2024
Sequined superstar Carrie Underwood will take the stage as featured entertainer for the 2024 Dallas Cattle Baron's Ball.
Event co-chairs Marjon Henderson and Lora Farris revealed Underwood as the big headliner at a party February 6 at Mirador restaurant in downtown Dallas. The entertainer was kept such a secret that not even staff nor vendors knew, and the organization was forbidden from sending a press release.
Instead, they announced it to the public via Instagram post: "We are honored and excited to announce the 2024 Cattle Baron’s Ball entertainer is Carrie Underwood! Thank you for joining us in our fight against cancer! See you at Southfork on September 28, 2024!"
Underwood, they remind in the post, has sold 85 million records worldwide, released 28 No. 1 hits, and has won eight Grammys, 16 Academy of Country Music Awards (including Entertainer of the Year), and 17 American Music Awards.
She last played Dallas at the American Airlines Center in March 2023, at a stop on her "Denim & Rhinestones" tour. Despite being nominated for Entertainer of the Year, she did not attend the ACM Awards in Frisco in May 2023, but fans can hope she'll make it to the 2024 edition, returning to Frisco in May.
Henderson and Farris have chosen the theme of "New Horizons" for the 51st ball, which will take place for the third year at Southfork Ranch, despite some security snafus at the 2023 event starring Shania Twain.
They have not yet announced the entertainer for the VIP party.
Cattle Baron’s Ball is the premier fundraiser for the American Cancer Society in North Texas, and has raised more than $98 million since its inception in 1974. The 2023 event alone raised $5,510,772.
The ball is the largest single-night fundraising event for cancer research in the world. It's considered Dallas' ultimate Western-glam event and the biggest party of fall.
