Hot Texas country music fest chooses Ella Langley as headliner

One of the Texas' buzziest music festivals will be back on April 17-18, 2027, with lots of country tunes. Two Step Inn, in the Austin suburb of Georgetown, has revealed its 2027 lineup including headliner, "Choosin' Texas" singer Ella Langley.

There will be 30 acts in all for 2027, plus what appears to be a Dolly Parton tribute, titled "We Will Always Love You," presented by Kaitlin Butts and Carter Faith. Each will also play their own individual set on Saturday and Sunday, respectively. Other notable sets include Brooks & Dunn, Parker McCollum, Whiskey Myers, Sheryl Crow, and Flatland Cavalry.

Everyone will be spread out across three stages, and there will be additional dance floors for folks who want to do their boot scootin' somewhere other than the ground. Aside from music, guests can snack on local food and shop for vintage, artisan, and craft goods.

Two Step Inn is now in its fifth year and has created a strong band for itself. It is produced by C3 Presents, the same company that produces the Austin City Limits Music Festival, which gave it a leg up in booking right away when it debuted in 2023. The Georgetown setting is also scores points with some fans who like an excuse to get to the Austin area in the spring - without battling traffic into the city itself.

A press release shares that the 2026 festival generated a $630,000 donation to to Friends of Georgetown Parks and Recreation. More than $3.1 million has been donated since the festival started in 2023. It also estimates the broader regional economic impact of the festival at $422.60 million.

Tickets will be available starting with a presale on Friday, September 25, at 12 noon. The lowest price for two-day general admission tickets will only be guaranteed for the first hour.

Fans can register for the presale at twostepinn.com. Remaining tickets will go to a general on-sale. Tickets will be for one day, two days, general admission (GA), GA+, VIP, and Platinum.

Low-cost Avelo Airlines adds 4 nonstops from McKinney starting at $99

Avelo Airlines is adding four new nonstops from DTX to Denver, Atlanta, Nashville, and New Orleans.

Budget-friendly Avelo Airlines is taking flight at McKinney National Airport (DTX) with the addition of four new nonstop routes heading to popular U.S. tourist destinations, with one-way fares starting at just $99.

The new nonstop routes will launch Wednesday, December 16 with four weekly departures for Denver and Atlanta, and twice-weekly service to New Orleans and Nashville following on December 17.

Flights to Denver (DEN) and Atlanta (ATL) will run on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays; service to Orleans (MSY) and Nashville (BNA) will run on Thursdays and Sundays.

The $99 introductory fare will apply for travel dates between December 1-17, 2026, and January 7-31, 2027. For flights booked by October 12, passengers get one checked bag for free.

Houston-based Avelo signed on to be the first airline to operate commercial flights from McKinney National Airport in December 2025, and the low-cost airline's first day of service will be on Veteran's Day, November 11.

The launch makes Avelo the first hometown airline in fast-growing Collin County and gives North Texas travelers an alternative to Dallas Fort Worth International Airport and Dallas Love Field.

McKinney National Airport has served as a general aviation airport for more than 40 years but is now transitioning to provide commercial air service in support of the area's growing population.

Avelo's inaugural service out of McKinney will launch on the following schedule:

Fort Myers (RSW): Wednesdays and Saturdays beginning November 11
Las Vegas (LAS): Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays beginning November 12
Orlando (MCO): Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays beginning November 12
Fort Lauderdale (FLL): Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays beginning November 19
Tampa (TPA): Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays beginning November 19

In addition unveiling new routes, Avelo also announced that it will add a third Boeing 737-800 to the airline's current fleet based at DTX. Avelo Airlines founder and CEO Andrew Levy said the new nonstop routes and the addition of a new aircraft "further cements [Avelo's] commitment to Collin County."
