Dallas Stars fans had to wait awhile for their team to hit the ice. But when the NHL season opener finally arrived, Stars owner Tom Gaglardi invited members of the Stars ownership advisory, Stars Foundation and Stars alumni — including Mike Modano, Marty Turco, Jere Lehtinen and Bob Basssen — to kick off the game in style.
Hours before the Stars went head-to-head against the Phoenix Coyotes, attendees met on the Admiral Level of the AudiClub at the American Airlines Center for cocktails and tasty apps, such as bacon-wrapped figs, gourmet pretzels, flatbreads, crab cakes and crostini.
Among the VIPs were professional golfer Alison Micheletti, CEO of Virgin America Don Carty, and former Texas Rangers owner Tom Hicks and his wife, Cinda. Other hockey enthusiasts spotted on the scene were Kellie and Greg Serrault, Sabrina Barnett, Sharon and Ty Robinson, Scott Simmons, Alison Valentine, and Charlie Turano.
After a warm reception, hockey fans watched the Dallas Stars take the win — with a view from Gaglardi's suite.
